There are two gasoline engines ready for the new truck.Base models will feature a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine, which comes pretty unchanged from the previous-gen Wrangler. It features a max output of 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and comes with either 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.The optional 2.0-liter engine is far more efficient, since it offers a similar amount of power, despite its significantly smaller displacement. Thanks to the mild hybrid system which provides additional torque, this engine delivers 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It comes in a pair with a new 8-speed automatic transmission.Finally, we expect to see a diesel engine in the offer. It should be a familiar 3.0-liter unit with 260 horses and 445 pound-feet of torque.
