2021 Renault Alaskan Changes, Specs and Release Date

The capable but yet comfortable 2021 Renault Alaskan should continue in the same way, although there are some novelties to come, mostly in terms of new equipment. In these days, even the highly comfort-oriented manufacturers like Renault started to produce utility vehicles. Fortunately for this French manufacturer, there was no need for the development of platform or any mechanical part of the truck. This truck is in tight connection with Nissan Navara, the truck that established its position on the market years ago and which is considered to be one of the most capable mid-size trucks around. Unlike the mechanics, Renault offers its own visual appearance, based on the current design language. The model originally came two years ago, so we are pretty sure that there will be no bigger changes for the next year. The 2021 Alaskan should come in a usual arrival time, somewhere late in the year.2021 Renault Alaskan Changes, Specs and Release Date14

2021 Renault Alaskan redesign

As we’ve already mentioned, this truck uses the same platform as much more famous Navara. Moreover, these two trucks are pretty much identical when it comes to mechanics. The 2021 Renault Alaskan will continue in the same, featuring same characteristics. On the other side, the visual appearance of this model has been pretty unique. It may have the same base contour as Navara, but the truck has been completely adapted to Renault’s current design language. Parts like headlights, grille, bumpers and many others have been replaced. In practice, its front end is similar to something similar to what we can see on the newest crossovers from this manufacturer. Finally, there have been some revisions at the back as well, so there is a new tailgate, with large “Renault” badge. On the inside, 2021 Renault Alaskan will offer plenty of comforts, despite its working nature.

2021 Renault Alaskan interior design

One of the strongest points of 2021 Renault Alaskan will be its interior design. This truck balances very well. While the outside we can see Nissan’s design and capabilities, on the inside we can see a real French flavor. The cabin design is amazing. You will notice not just stylish dashboard and quality materials, but many other great things as well. After all, this is one well-equipped truck, which offers a pretty long list of standard equipment. For the next year, we shouldn’t see bigger changes. The base trim level organization is likely to remain the same. Still, expect few novelties for each trim level. These novelties could be in terms of safety systems, but we could see some new gadget or something like that as well.

The engine is probably the biggest difference between Navara and Alaskan. While the Japanese truck relies on its own units, this one comes with Renault’s recognizable diesel powertrain. There are two versions of the familiar 2.3-liter engine. Base models feature its variant with a max output of 160 horsepower, which comes in a pair with 6-speed manual transmission. On the other side, there is an optional version of the engine, which delivers around 190 horses and 330 pound-feet of torque. This engine could come with either 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmissions.Besides this four-cylinder engine, there is a chance to see Renault’s larger 3.0-liter V6 in the offer as well.
