2021 VW Tiguan Redesign, Price and Specs

2021 VW Tiguan Redesign, Price and Specs. The forthcoming 2021 VW Tiguan is present for ten years now. This compact crossover SUV was a real game changer at the time and Tiguan will continue with the astonishing range of offers. After last year’s total redesign, Tiguan will arrive with slight changes only. The second-generation Tiguan is still one of the roomiest models in the compact SUV segment. The interior offers great technology amenities and the list of the driver-assist and safety systems is really long. The 2021 Tiguan offers room for seven passengers. Warranty is also among the best in the segment and the price is generally affordable. The exterior looks sporty and stylish. Some may find the exterior design boring, but we can’t agree with that. The sporty stance is clearly visible and it is a perfect match to such a subtle styling. There is only one drivetrain in the offer, and it is a turbocharged four-cylinder unit. However, the Tiguan will now arrive with a plug-in hybrid variant as well.2021 VW Tiguan Redesign, Price and Specs

2021 VW Tiguan exterior is unchanged

We just can’t put enough words to describe the exterior of the 2021 VW Tiguan. Clean, subtle, distinctive, modern, sporty, the choice is up to you. The new model will keep the same design. Sharper creases are providing amazing look which is a perfect match to a wider stance. Up front, the combination of the headlights and grille looks simple. The rear end adds a brilliant set of LED taillights and the rear section looks amazing, especially during the night. If you want a complete LED lighting system as standard, you’ll have to opt for the SEL Premium models. That includes the LED treatment on the headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights.Tiguan is not among the boldest crossovers in the segment but it is one of the largest models in the compact segment. It is 185 inches long and the base model will ride on 17-inch wheels. The 18, 19 and 20-inch rollers are all optional.

2021 VW Tiguan R-Line

Even the sporty R-Line package is available. This package adds a sportier look, unique features, and larger wheels. It is only an aesthetic add-on and the R-Line package won’t boost the functionality of the vehicle at all.

2021 VW Tiguan interior comfort is great

The upcoming 2021 VW Tiguan offers one of the roomiest interiors in the compact SUV segment, Moreover, Tiguan and Nissan Rogue are the only two compact SUVs on the market with the third-row of seats. On the other hand, the Tiguan’s third-row doesn’t rate so high. If you really need the third-row, opt for the bigger VW Atlas. The comfort is great and all of the seats are supportive. Front seats are coming with a lumbar support. Cloth upholstery is standard but the leather seats are optional.Only SEL Premium offers leather upholstery as standard. Interestingly, all Tiguans are offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car-like dash looks good and simple. A 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is a standard part of the equipment. An optional 12-inch touchscreen looks fantastic in our opinion. The 2021 VW Tiguan also offers a wide selection of interior colors. We’d recommend a two-tone orange and black interior scheme.

2021 VW Tiguan powertrain

At the 3,780 pounds, the 2021 VW Tiguan is the heaviest model in the compact SUV category. It means the fuel economy isn’t the strongest Tiguan’s side, but the mileage numbers are still average for the segment. Volkswagen’s designers didn’t cut the overall weight, so the acceleration is another Tiguan’s problems. However, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder still provides enough power. This engine is the only drivetrain choice and it delivers 184 horses. With 221 lb-ft of torque, Tiguan still offers more than respectable performance. The front-wheel-drive setup comes as standard but the 4Motion all-wheel-drive is optional. With the standard FWD, Tiguan manages to return 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Loading AWD configuration lowers the fuel economy, but nothing significant. This compact crossover can tow up to 1,500 pounds.

2021 VW Tiguan PHEV

Recently, the 2021 VW Tiguan PHEV was spotted on the streets. The hybrid variant will look almost the same from the outside as the regular Tiguan. Even the interior won’t depart at all from the base model. Performance-wise, Volkswagen will combine a 1.4-liter gasoline engine with the electric motor and the battery pack.Together, this combination will produce 220 horses and 300 lb-ft of torque. Most importantly, mileage will jump from 27 mpg on the highway to almost 40 mpg. If the rumors are true, German carmaker will upgrade the overall technology from 2012, that was actually the part of the original Tiguan PHEV concept.2021 VW Tiguan Redesign, Price and Specs
