Next 2022 Ford F-150 First Look, Redesign, and News. The next generation of the North American best-selling vehicle and the world’s most popular pickup truck is on the way. According to the latest reports, the new model will hit the market this September, as the 2022 Ford F-150. Changes will be numerous, but we don’t expect to see such a revolutionary approach, as it was the case with the previous one.
We all remember the previous redesign, which has brought significant changes, particularly in terms of the new platform and the use of lightweight materials. In this case, changes will be rather evolutionary and the focus will be on improving both driving experience and working capabilities. Of course, we will see new styling too, which will also come without radical changes. On the other side, it will be very interesting to see a new interior, give that the new Ram 1500 has really raised the bar in this aspect when it comes to pickup trucks. New powertrain options are on the way as well, including one or more electrified units.
2022 Ford F-150 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, most of the current engines will remain, but some novelties will come too. Base models will carry on with a 3.3-liter V6. It currently delivers around 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and we don’t expect changes in numbers for the next year.
Of course, we also count on two EcoBoost V6 units in the offer. The first one would be a 2.7-liter engine, which puts out around 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The other one is a 3.5-liter unit, which is good for about 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque in the base version. There is also a hi-output variant of this engine, which puts out around 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
Some reports were suggesting a new V8 engine in the offer. Still, it looks like the current 5.0-liter Coyote will carry on without changes. Max output will go around 395 horsepower. A familiar 3.0-liter turbodiesel should carry on without changes.
A hybrid version has also be confirmed, but we still don’t know the details.
2022 Ford F-150 Redesign
If we look at the current generation, it has really brought a real revolution in terms of pickup truck design. It has brought a completely new platform, where a vast majority of components are made of aluminum and HSS. Weight reduction was the biggest novelties of the previous redesign. For this one, we can talk about evolution. Of course, one of the focus points will certainly be making this truck even lighter, but we are pretty sure that the bigger concern of engineers would be suspension setup, which should bring significant improvement both in comfort and performances.
Exterior Design
When it comes to the styling, pretty much every report suggests that the changes for upcoming redesign will be really subtle. The evolutionary approach will bring changes mostly at the front, while the rest of the body is expected to carry on in the same way. When it comes to the front end, we count on new headlights, grille, bumper and similar things, but even these parts won’t be drastically different from the previous model. In this aspect, the upcoming redesign will look rather like a facelift that a complete overhaul.
When it comes to dimensions, we could see some smaller differences, which will measure in inches. On the other side, the overall proportions are about to remain the same and we have no doubt that the same body styles will remain in the offer. Count on a variety of models, with three different cab layouts and different bed sizes.
Interior
This aspect is still a complete mystery, but we see it pretty interesting, especially if we consider that most lovers of this truck have big expectations. One of two biggest rivals, Ram 1500, has recently come with a completely new interior design, which looks spectacular, both in terms of materials quality and overall opulence. 2022 Chevy Silverado is also about to come with a completely new cabin, which should also be pretty luxurious. We may expect the same thing from 2022 Ford F-150. Simply, Blue Oval company will do anything to retain a leading position on the market and offering a luxurious cabin is the least they can do.
Naturally, the new dashboard will look very attractive and opulent. On the other side, we don’t expect significant changes in terms of space. This model offers an impressive amount of interior space, no matter the cab style. We expect things won’t change drastically in this aspect. As we already mentioned, bed lengths will come in multiple sizes.
2022 Ford F-150 Release Date and Price
As we already mentioned, the new model should hit the market in September. Base models should go around 30.000 + dollars.
