2022 Honda Insight Hybrid System Details

The upcoming 2022 Honda Insight uses the same engine as the predecessor. This model is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces 107 horsepower. If you didn’t know, this powertrain uses the Atkinson cycle, which prioritizes efficiency over power and is common in other hybrid vehicles.

The electric motor is paired with a lithium-ion battery and it makes 129-horsepower. Generally, the whole system gives 151 horsepower. The hybrid system sends power through front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Insight also features an EV mode and it can only travel up to one mile on battery power alone. The combined fuel consumption on the current model is 55-MPG.

The new 2022 Honda Insight Hybrid comes with a proven 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that uses the Atkinson cycle. This system prioritizes efficiency overpower and is common in other hybrid vehicles if you didn’t know. The whole system can deliver 151 horses thanks to an electric motor that draws power from a lithium-ion battery. Like the current model, the new one will use front wheels drive through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Release Date and Price

The new 2022 Honda Insight Hybrid is now available to purchase. The entry-level model LX that comes with 16-inch wheels, LED taillights and headlights, and a 160-watt audio system with six speakers has (MSRP) of $22,900.

Jumping across trims to the most equipped Touring trim, which includes leather-trimmed seating, moonroof, onboard Wi-Fi, a navigation system, starts at little less than $29,000. Compared to other cars in the segments, the new sedan is in the price range with models as Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and the Toyota Corolla Hybrid.
